Dr. Soto's behavioral pharmacology and neuroscience laboratory is located at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center (6400 Perkins Road). You must have access to reliable transportation to participate in research in the laboratory. Attention to detail and ethical treatment of animals is of primary concern in animal research. The scientific integrity of the experiments depends on careful, rigorous adherence to procedures by laboratory assistants. If this in any way concerns you, please discuss with Dr. Soto. Ideally, you should be willing to commit to at least two semesters in the laboratory. This is of benefit to you and the laboratory because it will take some time for you to be trained and to gain maximum benefit from your research experience. Finally, there is a substantial amount of online training that is required by the center prior to any hands on work so you must be committed to complete that work in a timely manner, preferably prior to the start of your first semester.

What is your current year?
Students can participate in research through various avenues. Which of the following are you interested in (note that if you are registered in 2999 or 4999, you are expected to be in the lab for 3 hours for each registered credit)?
Have you taken PSYC 4035 (Drugs, Brain, and Behavior)?
